Resumo(s)
Comunidade Vida e Paz owns a social bakery, which currently works solely as mean to decrease
the cost of delivering suppers to the homeless in the streets of Lisbon. Throughout this chapter,
the possibility of turning the existing bakery into CVPaz’s third business unit is explored.
This opportunity is analyzed through the evaluation of the bakery’s financial sustainability in
its current format, and an illustration of its future business model, logistics, legal framework
and marketing strategy. A benchmark analysis of its market segment was also conducted, which
allowed for a diagnosis of the business' limitations and potential, resulting in the development
of five recommendations for the monetization of the current social bakery, from which two
were chosen for further analysis: Renting the bakery during vacant time and starting a
bakery/pastry business while incorporating beneficiaries.
