Resumo(s)
This study explores the educational experiences of second-generation immigrant students in
Austria, emphasizing socio-demographic characteristics, challenges, and outcomes. Semi structured interviews with nine participants and a survey of 101 respondents was conducted.
Results reveal persistent discrimination, particularly by teachers, impacting educational outcomes.
Parental education and socio-economic factors contribute to disparities. A lack of information with
the Austrian education system can pose major challenges for students, leading to dissatisfaction
and uninformed decisions. Recommendations include awareness-raising work, financial support
programs, and the establishment of an organization offering guidance through educational
transitions. Addressing these issues is crucial for fostering inclusivity and equal opportunities.
