Resumo(s)
This paper aims to describe the Escola da Ponte educational method in detail and to make a
comparative assessment of their student’ results, giving an idea of its potential to present
possible solutions to problems in the Portuguese education system. These problems are
presented, followed by an in-depth presentation of the school, its history, purpose and
methodology. It concludes with a data analysis, comparing Ponte to other public schools,
using data extracted from the MISI database, questionnaires, interviews, and direct
observation, all seemingly pointing towards a school that benefits its students and has the
potential to aid the education system.
