This qualitative study examines the intricate relation between female labour force participation
and intimate partner violence against Namibian women. The main findings underline the positive
impact of female employment on mitigating abuse against women. Although a minority of cases
show a slightly increased risk of partner violence, this research highlights the potential of female
employment to sustainably alleviate female abuse through societal transformation. Moreover, it
emphasises the importance of comprehensive policy interventions.
