Resumo(s)
A significant body of research explores the tensions and trade-offs faced by social enterprises
as they balance between social and financial goals. Nevertheless, a gap in understanding their
ethical nature remains. Reflecting on the characteristics of moral issues and proposing an
ethical decision-making framework, this thesis builds on the current scope of knowledge in
addressing performance tensions within the context of social enterprise. In doing so, it
encourages development of new practices and theories to advance the pursuits of social
mission.
