O presente relatório de estágio explora o conceito de lifestyle, a sua evolução no
jornalismo, em particular nas revistas masculinas, e a sua relevância nas culturas de consumo, tendo como objeto de estudo a revista GQ Portugal. Embora a área de lifestyle
esteja em crescimento e seja cada vez mais estudada, ainda existe uma grande ambiguidade na sua definição, uma vez que esta se confunde tanto com Jornalismo de Serviço, como com Jornalismo Cultural. Assim, este relatório de estágio tem como
objetivo analisar a forma como a revista GQ Portugal tem vindo a tratar jornalisticamente o conceito de lifestyle e quais são as características editoriais das peças publicadas nesta editoria.
Para alcançar o objetivo desta investigação utilizou-se uma metodologia mista,
que incluiu entrevistas realizadas a um ex-diretor da GQ Portugal, ao atual diretor e à Designer da revista, e uma análise de conteúdo a quatro revistas entre um período de 13
anos, num total de 189 artigos.
Os resultados indicam que a evolução do conceito de lifestyle na GQ Portugal foi
notória e os entrevistados também têm essa noção e referem que é algo de esperar, dado
que esta representa a contemporaneidade do mundo e todas as modificações que o
envolvem.
This internship report explores the concept of lifestyle, its evolution in journalism, particularly in men magazines and its relevance in consumer cultures, using GQ Portugal magazine as an object of study. Although lifestyle is an area that is growing and has been increasingly studied, there is still a great deal of ambiguity in its definition, since it is confused with both Service Journalism and Cultural Journalism. The aim of this internship report is analyse how this concept is being approached by GQ Portugal, from a journalistic angle, and the editorial characteristics of those pieces. To achieve the aim of this research, a mixed methodology was used, which included interviews with a former director of GQ Portugal, the current director and the designer of the magazine, and a content analysis of four magazines over a period of 13 years, with a total of 189 articles. Findings show that the evolution of the lifestyle concept in GQ Portugal has been notorious and the interviewees are also aware of this and say that it is something to look forward to. For them, a lifestyle magazine changes every year, as it represents the contemporary world and all the changes that surround it.
