Resumo(s)
This study explores the interplay between labour shortage, open innovation, and innovativeness
in German organizations. While the direct negative impact of labour shortage on
innovativeness is not statistically significant, the mediating role of open innovation emerges as
crucial. Companies actively engaging in collaborative practices exhibit higher innovativeness
during labour shortages. Further research is recommended to investigate specific mechanisms
within open innovation and explore industry-specific and regional variations. The study
provides insights for strategic decision-making, emphasizing the importance of embracing
external collaborations to sustain innovation in the face of evolving labour market challenges.
