Neste relatório de estágio, abordam-se os temas da acessibilidade e da inclusão no âmbito dos museus. Estes conceitos são fundamentais para, em primeiro lugar, assegurar que as pessoas, independentemente das suas características, podem participar na atividade museal e, em seguida, tornar as instituições museológicas espaços seguros, interventivos e capacitantes. Porém, verifica-se que os museus são não raras vezes inacessíveis para pessoas com deficiência e da comunidade S/surda e que frequentemente as equipas não conseguem colmatar estas falhas. Para compreender como estas barreiras surgem e como mitigá-las, analisa-se o Museu Condes de Castro Guimarães e descrevem-se atividades que envolveram pessoas com deficiência para se proporem melhorias que promovam a inclusão.
This internship report addresses the issues of accessibility and inclusion in museums. These concepts are fundamental to, firstly, ensuring that people, regardless of their characteristics, can participate in museum activity and, secondly, making museum institutions safe, interactive and empowering spaces. However, it is often the case that museums are inaccessible to people with disabilities and the D/deaf community, and museum staff often fail to address these shortcomings. To understand how these barriers arise and how to mitigate them, the Condes de Castro Guimarães Museum is analyzed and activities involving people with disabilities are described to propose improvements that promote inclusion.
