Resumo(s)
O presente relatório de estágio baseia-se na análise de conteúdos, traduções,
legendagem e/ou pós-edição de materiais audiovisuais, com recurso a competências
derivadas da área científica dos Estudos Ingleses e Norte-Americanos e a conhecimentos
sobre tendências contemporâneas. O relatório visa, assim, demonstrar como a
aprendizagem numa empresa de tradução e de serviços informáticos permite colocar em
prática conhecimentos literários e culturais numa perspetiva interdisciplinar e
intercultural.
Em termos metodológicos, são utilizados conceitos oriundos dos Queer e Gender
Studies, explorados numa ótica de tendências socioculturais que visam incidir sobre
questões como a inclusão e a diversidade. O principal objetivo consiste em sublinhar
diferenças e semelhanças entre o contexto americano e português, integrando igualmente
referências ao contexto britânico, no âmbito da globalização.
This report is based on the analysis of content, translations, subtitling and/or postedition of audiovisual materials, drawing on skills that derive not only from the scientific field of English and North-American Studies but from knowledge about contemporary trends. The report aims to prove how the learning acquired in a translation and computer services’ company allows the application of literary and cultural knowledge from an interdisciplinary and intercultural perspective. In methodological terms, concepts arising from Queer and Gender Studies are used and explored from the perspective of sociocultural trends, aiming to address questions like inclusion and diversity. The main objective is to underline the differences and similarities between the American and Portuguese context, equally integrating references to the British context, within the scope of globalization.
