The hotel business is at an important turning point in an era characterized by the swift
assimilation of artificial intelligence (AI) technology across multiple domains. It is balanced
between innovation and the quest for unmatched customer service excellence. The industry is
known for being data-intensive, collecting large amounts of data in different formats. Hence,
this research illustrates how digitalization has influenced the hotel industry to enhance
revenues – from the evolution of the discipline itself to the results of potential revenue
enhancing solutions that were carried out in a case study, using the IDC MethodologyScape
Assessment.
