Since the end of the 20th century, it has been known that climate change is the greatest challenge of our time. Scientific reports document its dimension and danger, but concrete measures to reverse the situation are scarce. A systemic transformation as well as socio-cultural changes are fundamental, so communicating the phenomenon effectively is necessary. After a historical contextualization of the scientific, political and media landscape of climate change, this study reveals an emerging view: that of the arts and humanities. Human beings are moved by narratives and emotions, so the contribution of artistic practices, as well as the position of museums as spaces of reflection, has marked a significant contribution to climate awareness. The present research explored the role of culture in communicating climate change through the maat explorations program of the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology. It aimed to find the challenges, properties and potentialities of the communication used, as well as to find new paths of art, through which the human-nature relationship may return more honest and authentic. The results suggest that the museum adopted an explanatory posture, with solid narratives embedded in varied audiovisual formats. It invested in digital presence, devalued the educational service, and did not adopt concrete mechanisms of audience studies. It assumed several innovative elements in the chosen communication.
