Deutsche Bank achieved from 2015-2022 a remarkable financial turnaround (Tagesschau,
2023). The following Master Thesis examines the question of the key factors for the successful
turnaround. First, it reviews the history of Deutsche Bank. In the second part, the Thesis
examines strategies from 2015-2022, corresponding management decisions, their effects on
business performance and an assessment. Finally, it identifies key aspects for a successful
turnaround. To investigate these matters, quantitative and qualitative analyses were applied. To
achieve the objective of a sustainable profitable bank, Deutsche Bank had to regain the trust of
its clients and employee pride as most important aspects (OMR, 2023).
