As the follower’s perspective gains more importance in leadership and Generation Z increas ingly enters the workforce in business, this study explores the differences between the expec tations of Generation Z workers and business executives’ perceptions regarding their leadership
behaviors. To gather qualitative data, the study conducted literature reviews and analyzed the
positions of followers and leaders using descriptive statistical methods. The analysis revealed
slight differences in overall ratings and notable statistical discrepancies in certain leadership
behaviors. The findings suggest that implementing a relationship-oriented and “affiliative”
leadership style is crucial and identifies four dimensions of future-ready leadership.
