Resumo(s)
Using a sample of 171 EU-15 regions from 1995 to 2024, we study the effect of EU Structural
Funds on European regional growth and convergence. Spatial dependence and growth clusters
are controlled by combining Moran’s I indexes and a LISA analysis. Income convergence and
the impact of structural funds are investigated using a Spatial Durbin Model. Results are
favorable to the conditional convergence hypothesis and suggest a positive and significant
direct effect of Structural Funds on the focal region’s economic growth.
