The aim of this work project is to assess the effectiveness that the Homegrown Player Rule had on menās Portuguese Futsal, focusing on the impact in the youth and main Portuguese national teams. A series of tests and models, such as an Interrupted Times Series regression and a Random Effects Logistical regression were applied to estimate the impact of the rule. The results reveal, despite a relatively short period of implementation, that the rule contributed to a decrease in the squad average age of the National Team and that the youth squads have players with more Liga Placard experience.
