The research provides deeper insight into the challenges and opportunities of the compliance
function in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector. In this context, the paper focuses on the
relationship between the compliance function and the business and explores a cross-functional
monitoring approach. A triangulation method was chosen to gain a comprehensive
understanding of the topic, utilizing a combination of literature review, secondary data analysis,
and primary data collection. The results indicate that technology enhances the compliance
function, and that compliance positively influences business success. Furthermore, integrating
business activities into a compliance monitoring platform improves compliance activities.
