The rise of crypto assets offers new investment opportunities, with Proof of Stake (PoS)
blockchain ecosystems gaining popularity for high passive income through staking rewards.
Despite the prospect of high returns, the lack of understanding and regulatory oversight poses
significant risks to non-web3 native investors. This study compares crypto assets with common
stocks on the characteristics of ownership, annual rewards, voting power, liquidity, and legal
framework, providing insights that may facilitate investment decisions. By highlighting
similarities and differences, the study discusses the potential benefits and drawbacks of PoS
blockchain ecosystems and gives valuable views into the evolving landscape of crypto assets.
