Resumo(s)
This paper utilizes the UKMOD model to evaluate the feasibility of implementing two
different Universal Basic Income (UBI) schemes in the United Kingdom. It conducts three
simulations to assess the impact of these UBI schemes on poverty, inequality, and fiscal
balance indicators in the UK for 2018. This paper contributes to the existing literature by
providing empirical evidence on the impact on UBI schemes on key metrics, and comparing
the impact of different UBI designs whilst using a rigorous methodology.
