With the rising trend of sharing economy, more and more start ups enter the market as an online
rental Software-as-a-Service platform operating between businesses and customers. Currently,
with no domestic operator, this research examines the economic potential of the equipment
rental industry in Iberia, particularly for Software-as-a-Service start ups. After executing
primary and secondary research through surveys, interviews, and data analysis, the Iberian
rental market can be classified as a sizeable economic opportunity with a sufficient market size,
a well-developed start up ecosystem, people with the willingness to rent, and the outlook for a
further growing market.
