Resumo(s)
Geopolitical, economic, and environmental instabilities pose danger to the resilience on global
supply chains. Thus, international companies must be aware of the potential harm exposed to
their operations and consider business modifications. The Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia Ukraine war present recent examples of economic sanctions, constraining commercial
activities. These forces need to be thoroughly investigated and reduced through relocation
efforts. Re- and friend-shoring present effective measures to cope with supply chain disruptions
by shifting manufacturing to like-minded regions that share common values. Stakeholders have
divergent opinions, as shoring efforts result in isolation of emerging markets.
