This study seeks to comprehend the integration of Brazilian immigrant footballers in Portugal through the lens of Pierre Bourdieu's Social Capital Theory. The main constituent elements of the various types of capital acquired by the players, which underpin their settlement process and insertion into Portuguese society, are examined from this standpoint. In this context, the concepts of football capital, social capital, cultural capital, symbolic capital, and economic capital are dissected, as well as their respective positive and negative impacts on the construction of social integration within and outside the Portuguese sporting environment. This work analyzes the dimensions that underpin integration from the social capital theory's perspective, based on international migration, through qualitative analysis, specifically semi-structured interviews. The primary goal of this research is to determine how much football contributes to the construction of integration and whether it facilitates or hinders this process, thus answering the question: "To what extent can football contribute to the integration of Brazilian immigrants in Portugal?". In short, this study sheds light on the dynamics of various types of capital in the integration of Brazilian immigrant athletes in Portugal, determining where and how football fits into these mechanics.
