A presente pesquisa visa investigar, teórica e empiricamente, o trabalho do ator-realizador no processo de criação cinematográfica autoral e independente, e entender as principais características, funções e desafios deste agente criador. Como metodologia, propõe-se uma etapa de pesquisa teórica, com o levantamento bibliográfico de trabalhos que dialoguem com processos de criação independentes em cinema, e o estudo de diretores e obras que apontam para um trabalho investigativo do artista criador, além de uma pesquisa prática de vivência do processo completo de criação de um filme. Ao final, foi produzida uma Memória Descritiva com os registros e relatórios de pesquisa e um produto audiovisual criado por um ator-realizador. Identificou-se que a solidão é algo presente e importante durante este processo, devido ao seu caráter autônomo e com o acúmulo de funções. Defenderei que a vivência deste processo torna o artista mais consciente, não só de suas funções principais - realizar e atuar -, mas de todas as outras envolvidas no fazer cinematográfico, o que o
possibilita ser um líder na produção artística mais cuidadoso e assertivo.
The present research aims to investigate, theoretically and empirically, the work of the actor-director in the authorial and independent cinematographic creation process, and to understand the main characteristics, functions and challenges of this creative agent. As a methodology, a theoretical research stage is proposed, with a bibliographical survey of works that dialogue with independent creation processes in cinema, and the study of directors and works that point to an investigative work by the creative artist, in addition to a practical research of experiencing the complete process of creating a film. In the end, a Descriptive Memory was produced with records and research reports and an audiovisual product created by an actor-director. It was identified that loneliness is something present and important during this process, due to its autonomous character and the accumulation of functions. I will argue that experiencing this process makes the artist more aware, not only of his main functions - directing and acting -, but of all others involved in filmmaking, which enables him to be a more careful and assertive leader in artistic production.
