A pandemia Covid-19 atingiu o mundo e em especial, a Europa de maneira intensa, o que levou a uma paralisia econômica com consequências sociais significativas. A União Europeia enfrentou desafios políticos, econômicos e sociais sem precedentes, com a necessidade de tomar medidas para lidar com a crise.
Esta dissertação analisa o impacto do Covid-19 enquanto crise na Europa e por conseguinte a resposta da União Europeia à pandemia como meio de controlar a propagação do vírus e minimizar o impacto econômico e social. No entanto, a pandemia também destacou as desigualdades entre países dentro da União Europeia, o que levanta questões como a solidariedade dentro da União Europeia e destaca a necessidade de uma
abordagem mais coordenada para lidar com as crises em toda a União Europeia. Apesar dos impactos negativos que a pandemia trouxe para o mundo e em especial, para a Europa é importante reconhecer que esta crise pode também apresentar oportunidades de mudança e desenvolvimento.
The Covid-19 pandemic hit the world and in particular Europe hard, leading to economic paralysis with significant social consequences. The European Union faced unprecedented political, economic, and social challenges with the need to take measures to deal with the crisis. This dissertation analyses the impact of Covid-19 as a crisis in Europe and therefore the European Union's response to the pandemic as a means of controlling the spread of the virus and minimizing the economic and social impact. However, the pandemic has also highlighted inequalities between countries within the European Union, which raises issues such as solidarity within the European Union and highlights the need for a more coordinated approach to dealing with crises across the European Union. Despite the negative impacts that the pandemic has brought to the world and, to Europe it is important to recognize that this crisis can also present opportunities for change and development.
