This report focuses on the Supervised Teaching Practice, of the Master's Degree in Teaching Musical Education in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Nova University of Lisbon, carried out in a private school in the parish of Cascais, during the 2022/2023 academic year. This report is structured in two parts: the first part refers to the history of Musical Education in Portugal, followed by a brief contextualization of the guiding principles as well as the objectives of the Musical Education discipline in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. The school context where the Supervised Teaching Practice was implemented is also characterized and the entire pedagogical practice is described, namely the classes observed, taught and the projects involved, such as Rádio 31, Escola de Música 31, PoliRitMus and also other projects carried out with the preschool child. At the end of this part, an analysis and reflection on the importance of pedagogical practice is presented. The second part reports the entire research component carried out during Supervised Teaching Practice, with a 6th year class, around the theme of gibberish. The concept is explored through the conception of a story, through vocal and instrumental communication resulting in a musical composition per group, with the respective graphic score. The analysis of this investigation was based on collecting student responses to questionnaires administered at the end of each class implementing the gibberish project, developing three phases: pre-analysis, data processing and content analysis. This part also presents the outputs of the project, the respective reflections of the intern teacher as well as the future proposals of this research.
