This report aims to demonstrate the tasks that were carried out during my curricular internship at The USE Concept, in order to obtain a Master's degree in Territory Management, with specialisation in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems. Territory is a volatile and non-renewable resource that is essential to the lives of populations and biodiversity, with its two dynamics: internal and external. With this in mind, the main objective of territorial planning is to achieve an integrated and balanced socio-economic development of territories, a better quality of life for populations and conscientious management of the environment and natural resources. This means promoting territorial cohesion through more equitable social and economic development, making territories more resilient to future crises, whether these are environmental, social or economic. Territorial planning and land use planning complement each other. Spatial planning, which is crucial for greater territorial resilience, is a dynamic process involving the organisation and management of a given territory. In this context, we find Spatial Planning Monitoring Systems (SMOT), which are crucial tools for analysing, evaluating and monitoring the challenges facing the territory on an ongoing basis. As a result, it was possible to create the "SMOT Abrantes", an interactive and dynamic solution, materialised with eight territorial indicators from the most up to date Abrantes Urbanisation Plan (PUA), using GIS technology, such as ArcGIS Dashboards and StoryMaps: Map Journal.
