O presente relatório expressa os resultados do estágio curricular realizado entre outubro de 2022 e abril de 2023 na Divisão NATO do Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros, em Lisboa, de forma a completar os requisitos da Componente Não Letiva do Mestrado em Ciência Política e Relações Internacionais, com especialização em Relações Internacionais, pela Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
Este relatório organiza-se em dois capítulos. O primeiro, que proporciona um enquadramento institucional-histórico, sobre a instituição frequentada, a Aliança Atlântica e o processo de adesão português à NATO. O segundo, relativo à descrição das atividades realizadas e à sua interação com o conhecimento curricular.
A Divisão NATO do Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros é responsável por assegurar e coordenar todas as pastas relativas à participação nacional na Aliança, destacando-se as relacionadas com matérias securitárias. No contexto temporal do estágio realizado, a invasão russa da Ucrânia assumiu preponderância no trabalho efetuado institucionalmente, num ambiente estratégico onde a informação e análise política internacionais são essenciais, assegurando o auxílio à tomada de decisão da participação nacional nas reuniões e cimeiras internacionais.
The following report contains the results of the curricular internship carried out between October 2022 and April 2023 at the NATO Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Lisbon, in order to complete the requirements of the Non-Teaching Component of the Master's Degree in Political Science and International Relations, with a specialization in International Relations, from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. This document is organized into two chapters. The first provides an institutional-historical background on the institution attended, the Atlantic Alliance and the Portuguese membership process in NATO. The second describes the activities carried out and their interaction with curricular knowledge. The NATO Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for ensuring and coordinating all matters related to national participation in the alliance, particularly those related to security matters. In the context of this internship, the Russian invasion of Ukraine took center stage in the work carried out institutionally, in a strategic environment where information and international political analysis are essential, ensuring decision-making support for national participation in international meetings and summits.
