Resumo(s)
In 2018, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) defined several goals to reduce
carbon intensity and the GHG emissions from international shipping aiming for a reduction
of 50% in 2050 when compared to 2008 levels. These ambitious targets, the Ukraine war
and the constant fluctuation on fuel prices set the pace to a change in the shipping industry.
The purpose of this work project is to see the financial impact on traditional engine
technology given the prospect of regulation of the industry compared to an investment in a
new technology in GS Lines – Transportes Marítimos, lda
