A narrative review was performed and a qualitative study was conducted using the inductive method. A semi-structured interview script was elaborated, composed of 8 questions, and 15 VBHC stakeholders were interviewed. They concluded that the implementation of VBHC faces several challenges, requiring a collaborative effort to achieve a comprehensive vision of value and an adequate multi-stakeholder alignment. The implementation of VBHC can confer sustainable competitive advantage and its adoption as a strategic model will be inevitable in the future
