This dissertation intends to reflect on concepts about body and dramaturgy considering the analysis of the archives and records of Companhia Maior and from the studies that address issues related to this theme and the company. The guiding and objective cell of this study is to investigate the meaning, way of thinking and to organise the elements that constitute a dramaturgy of the body, which, based on the files and works analyzed, seeks to systematize the universe of imagery, corporeal creation, and consequently, of language evidenced in the shows created by the Company with bodies over 60 years old. The study also proposes to reflect on the body and dramaturgy in performative objects in order to understand the conceptual composition of these two elements. As a path developed throughout this research, I present as a starting point the history of Companhia Maior and its works, reflecting its creation, trajectory and stages of construction of the shows, following the idea of archival critique with theories that address the analysis of the arts through documentary means. In the next chapters I establish a reflection on theories of the body and dramaturgy reaching the universe of aged bodies in the arts. The study also discusses public policies to maintain the activities of companies and artists as a way to raise questions about the continuity of the work of theater and dance companies.
