Nesta dissertação, refletimos sobre a condição da espera no feminino, fenómeno do qual Penélope homérica é arquétipo, e a cada vez maior tendência para a sua revisão na literatura portuguesa contemporânea de autoria feminina, com o principal objetivo de evidenciar a propriedade transformadora e combativa da espera, principalmente quando aliada a exercícios de escrita levados a cabo por mulheres como Maria Isabel Barreno, Maria Teresa Horta, Maria Velho da Costa, Alice Sampaio, Maria do Rosário Pedreira, Adília Lopes e Ana Hatherly. Esta dissertação perspetiva a espera como um possível ato de resistência.
In this dissertation, we reflect on the feminine condition of waiting, a phenomenon of which Homeric Penelope is the archetype, and the increasing tendency for its revision in contemporary Portuguese literature written by women, with the main goal of highlighting the transformative and combative property of waiting, especially when allied to writing exercises carried out by women like Maria Isabel Barreno, Maria Teresa Horta, Maria Velho da Costa, Alice Sampaio, Maria do Rosário Pedreira, Adília Lopes e Ana Hatherly. This dissertation looks at waiting as a possible act of resistance.
