This study investigates the adaptive strategies that social organizations in Portugal employ to cope with the absence of a dedicated legal form for social enterprises. It employs an inductive approach to explore how they thrive within this legal constraint. Sustainability factors, notably diversification of revenue sources, emerge as pivotal for financial resilience. Challenges include ineligibility for certain public funds due to their legal forms.
