Fado is a Portugal synonymous: it belongs to its historical past, it is promoted by the most diverse organizations as a national symbol, with Amália Rodrigues at its centre, and it is one of the main sources of income when it comes to national tourism. But the image that is transmitted and that is promoted is that this musical genre was, in times, glorious and majestic, not being available on a single platform as it is widespread and perceived today. The media have relatively substantial media coverage, dedicating themselves more to the topic when new albums are released or shows by more popular artists. The objective of this project is to understand whether it would be feasible to build a music magazine dedicated entirely to fado, in order to fill this gap in terms of a topic so close to the Portuguese public, and what are its opportunities and constraints. For this, a benchmarking was carried out, a content analysis related to the coverage of fado in Portuguese media and a questionnaire survey of the population. Next, a proposal for the development of a magazine dedicated to fado and its business model is presented.
