Este Relatório foi feito tendo por base o estágio de dois meses realizado para a AlertaMente – Associação Nacional Para a Saúde Mental, entidade não governamental que actua para a melhoria da saúde mental (inclusive a sua melhor comunicação) dentro do contexto português. No meu período como estagiário, a AlertaMente notadamente organizou o III Fórum Nacional de Saúde Mental, cujas apresentações serviram de base para a análise da comunicação, no intuito de responder à pergunta: as apresentações do Fórum comunicam e/ou permitem depreender uma melhoria nos últimos anos no quadro da saúde mental portuguesa (ou ao menos no trabalho cotidiano das associações convidadas)? Para se tentar responder a essa questão, abordou-se uma seleção de quatro apresentações do Fórum, utilizando-se a perspetiva teórica da análise argumentativa, bem como das teorias desenvolvidas em torno de três níveis comunicacionais: institucional, estratégico e científico. Das quatro apresentações supracitadas, escrutinou-se uma que pareceu mais significativa para este relatório, pela lógica de argumentos que apresenta e pela problemática que a oradora trouxe ao Fórum, e que não se viu em outras instâncias do evento. A partir dessa análise aprofundada, fez-se o contraste entre os objetivos do Fórum e o que realizaram as comunicações das entidades convidadas.
The present Report was done on basis of the two-month internship for AlertaMente – Associação Nacional Para a Saúde Mental, a non-governmental organization that works towards an improvement of mental health (including the communication thereof) in the Portuguese context. During my time as an intern, AlertaMente notably organized the III Mental Health National Forum, the presentations of which were taken as basis for a communicational analysis, in order to answer the question: did the presentations for the Forum communicate or allow one to infer an improvement, during the last few years, in the Portuguese mental health panorama (or at least in the everyday work of the invited institutions)? So as to strive for an answer to this question, a selection of four presentations from the Forum were analyzed, utilizing the theoretical framework of argument analysis, as well as the theories developed on regards to three communicational levels: institutional, strategic and scientific. Out of the four presentations for the Forum, one in particular was scrutinized for being considered the most relevant for this Report, due to the presentation’s argumentative logic and the concerns brought forth by the speaker, concerns which were not present in any other moment during the Forum. Through this in-depth analysis, a contrast was made between the Forum’s objectives and the achievements of the presentations given by the invited institutions.
