Neste trabalho tentaremos abordar a relação da obra romanesca de Michel Houellebecq com a hipermodernidade. Num primeiro momento abordaremos a questão da modernidade e da sua evolução até à chegada da hipermodernidade. Entraremos depois na especificidade da obra houellebecquiana, e através do estudo de uma temática particular (a viagem), veremos de que forma a hipermodernidade transparece na obra do escritor francês.
In this dissertation, we will try to approach the relationship between Michel Houellebecq's novels and hypermodernity. Firstly, we will address the issue of modernity and its evolution until the arrival of hypermodernity. We will then go into the specificity of Houellebecq’s work, and through the study of a particular theme (the journey), we will see how hypermodernity is portrayed in his writings.
