Desde 1959, com a publicação do estudo “On Linguistic Aspects of Translation” de Roman Jakobson, tornou-se comum observar o paradigma da Tradução ramificado em três tipos: interlinguística, intersemiótica e intralinguística. Dos três, o que apresenta maior volume de estudos e trabalhos de investigação é, indubitavelmente, a tradução interlinguística, encontrando-se as outras duas numa posição relativamente secundária. Contudo, nos últimos anos, verificou-se um crescimento de publicações de cariz académico, realizadas no âmbito dos Estudos de Tradução, que vieram a alargar o conhecimento destes dois tipos de tradução, nomeadamente a intralinguística. Nesse sentido, em 2009, Karen Korning Zethsen propôs uma tétrade onde categorizou os parâmetros geralmente identificáveis numa tradução intralinguística. Tendo como fundamentação teórica esta tétrade, a presente dissertação procura analisar obras selecionadas a partir da “Colecção de Clássicos da Literatura Portuguesa Contados às Crianças” e proceder ao levantamento e exame das estratégias tradutórias tendencialmente utilizadas tanto pelos tradutores intralinguísticos como pelos tradutores intersemióticos.
Since 1959, with the publication of Roman Jakobson's “On Linguistic Aspects of Translation”, it has become commonplace to observe the paradigm of Translation branched into three types: interlinguistic, intersemiotic and intralinguistic. Of the three, the one with the largest volume of studies and research is undoubtedly interlinguistic translation, with the other two in a relatively secondary position. Nonetheless, in recent years, there has been an increasing number of academic publications in the field of Translation Studies seeking to broaden the knowledge about these two types of translation, especially intralinguistic translation. In 2009, Karen Korning Zethsen proposed a tetrad in which she categorises the generally identifiable parameters of intralinguistic translation. Having this tetrad as a theoretical basis, the present dissertation seeks to analyse selected works from the “Colecção de Clássicos da Literatura Portuguesa Contados às Crianças” and to survey and examine the translation strategies used by both intralinguistic and intersemiotic translators.
