O relatório que se segue descreve a experiência da estagiária na Comissão Nacional da UNESCO, Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros, ao longo de seis meses.
A tradução, por si só, representa um papel fulcral na política e na diplomacia internacional. Incorporando as áreas da Educação, da Ciência e da Cultura na política, a UNESCO, designadamente, a Comissão Nacional Portuguesa, tem vindo a realizar um trabalho de grande mérito unindo estes domínios através da tradução.
O presente relatório de estágio pretende dar a conhecer as tarefas atribuídas e realizadas ao longo do estágio, bem como a metodologia de tradução utilizada, desenvolvendo ao longo de um capítulo teórico a definição de tradução institucional e o papel da mesma tanto a nível nacional como internacional, e mais particularmente na
Comissão Nacional da UNESCO. Por fim, no capítulo que dá nome a este relatório, pretende-se analisar o processo de tradução de um curso do UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development relativo às Alterações Climáticas, bem como os métodos e ferramentas usados para assegurar a qualidade do produto final.
The following report describes an internship experience at the Portuguese National Commission for UNESCO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, over the course of six months. Translation, by itself, plays a crucial role in politics and in international diplomacy. By combining the fields of Education, Science and Culture with politics, UNESCO, particularly the Portuguese National Commission, has been doing an outstanding work fusing these domains through translation. This report intends to describe the assigned works carried throughout the internship, as well as the translation methods applied, undertaking a theoretical chapter on the definition of institutional translation and its role at a national and international level, more particularly at the Portuguese National Commission for UNESCO. Finally, in the chapter that gives name to this report, it is intended to analyse the translation process of a course from UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development about Climate Change, as well as the methods and tools used to ensure the quality of the final product.
