Resumo(s)
The goal of this study is to analyze the regulatory differences of hostile takeovers and their
defense strategies in Germany compared to other countries and thereby to fill in the research
gap of a comprehensive up to date comparison to a large country sample. After examining the
specifics of the German capital market, the development and current regulation in various
developed and emerging markets, the found differences and their impact are discussed. The
current framework in Germany sits in between the management friendly USA and the European
standard
