Resumo(s)
This Work Project analyses the newly proposed tax law for cryptoassets in Portugal, by
comparing it to existing regulations in the USA, the UK, and Germany. Furthermore, based on
interviews and a questionnaire, respondents’ characterisation, literacy, and opinion regarding
taxation in Portugal were analysed. The research concludes people are beginning to be familiar
with tokens, albeit their knowledge is still not very deep. For most respondents, obstacles to
investment are lack of knowledge and taxation itself. The research recommends a favourable
tax framework for cryptoassets in order to continue attracting investment as well as raising
awareness of cryptoasset
