The savoir faire is at the foundation of any luxury brand. It is associated with a made-in label,
that conveys a country’s identity. As opposite to countries with a well-established definition of
the savoir faire, such as France or Italy, there is currently no definition of the Portuguese savoir
faire. The purpose of this work project is to define the Portuguese savoir faire, through the
analysis of the term in France, Italy, and USA, which have renowned made-in labels, through
the lenses of the country-of-origin framework, and qualitative interviews to experts on the
Portuguese savoir faire.
