Resumo(s)
In the last decades, the case for succession planning in family businesses has emerged and
gained the most attention from researchers from a management succession point of view.
However, there is still a lack of research carried out on the role of ownership succession in
business continuity. Drawing on a literature review and a single case study, this thesis provides
the case for ownership succession planning and approaches controlling family can take to
preserve ownership over a multigenerational business.
