What influences cryptocurrencies - an empirical investigation

This thesis examines which external factors influence the valuation of cryptocurrencies. First,
possible influencing factors and the current conditions of the crypto market are discussed. This
includes four main topics, such as "Political Factor," "Macro-Finance," "Crypto Market," and
"Accessibility." These areas are analyzed via an online survey with experts. Twelve experts
from a heterogeneous environment are interviewed deeply on these aspects. The result is that
the Crypto Market forms the most significant influencing factor on the value of
cryptocurrencies, followed by the Political Factor. The Macro-Finance sector and the
Accessibility of cryptocurrencies currently have little influence.
