O presente relatório é o produto do estágio curricular realizado no Grupo Editorial Divergência entre Setembro e Novembro de 2022, descrevendo e reflectindo sobre as tarefas executadas. Abordam-se as diferentes fases do processo editorial, desde a leitura e selecção de originais à edição e revisão dos mesmos, incluindo também funções tipicamente fora das responsabilidades do editor, como paginação e venda de livros. Procura-se frisar e enaltecer o papel do editor no trabalho sobre o texto, como sendo uma mais-valia para o livro e tendo o objectivo de o apresentar ao público apenas na sua melhor versão. Menciona-se ainda o uso da tecnologia na área e as vantagens e problemas que proporciona, tanto actualmente como no futuro.
This report is the product of an internship at the Editorial Divergência publishing company during the months of September to November 2022, aiming to describe and reflect over the executed tasks. It will focus upon the different stages of the publishing process, from the reading and selection of manuscripts to their editing and proofreading, including duties typically outside of the responsibilities of an editor, such as page-makeup and bookselling. The objective is to extol the role of an editor in improving the text, aiming to present to the public only the best possible version of a book. The use of technology is also remarked upon: what are the advantages and problems derived from it, both now and in the future.
