It is in the midst of the Europe-America Atlantic crossings and having, specifically Brazil, as destination, in the first two decades of the 20th century, that this work is dedicated. Taking into account the national socio-political historical moment, the fusion of the establishment of the Republic and the recent abolition of slavery, we seek to understand the role of Spanish immigrants in the Brazilian territory as political actors and main workers, filling the place of the hitherto hand of slave labour. Therefore, this research prioritizes the analysis of both, the banishment of Spanish immigrants carried out by the Brazilian government between 1907 and 1922, and the construction of the political project of banishment of immigrants all the way through its execution. Thus, the aim is to contextualize the place occupied by Spanish immigrants in order to examine their integration as an active group in the workforce' organizations at the time, together with the understanding of how the repression and defence of this participation took place. The research is backed up by thorough investigation of relevant bibliography, along with several primary sources. Some of the sources are from the –Spanish and Brazilian ethnic – press, as well as from judicial processes, such as criminal and habeas corpus processes, and parliamentary speeches produced in the National Congress.
