Este relatório corresponde a um estágio de três meses no Setor de Tradução da Procuradoria-Geral da República. Durante o estágio, foi efetuada a tradução e retroversão de textos jurídicos entre o par de línguas inglês e português europeu. Visou-se com este estágio o aprofundamento da área de tradução jurídica, assim como a análise do tema da equivalência dentro desta área. Foi feito um enquadramento teórico sobre a equivalência terminológica dentro dos Estudos da Tradução e foi analisada a sua aplicação através de exemplos práticos que surgiram durante o estágio.
This report refers to an internship of three months which took place in the Translation Section of the Prosecutor General’s Office. During the internship, the translation and retroversion of legal texts was conducted between the language pair English and European Portuguese. It was the purpose of this internship to achieve a deeper understanding of legal translation, as well as to examine the concept of equivalence within this field of study. Terminological equivalence was explored within the theoretical framework of Translation Studies and its application was analysed through practical examples that came up during the internship
