Resumo(s)
This work project includes an overview of Jerónimo Martins,
SGPS, whereby business model, performance, intra-industry
competition, macro and geopolitical factors are analyzed in order
to accurately assess the value of the company, which is found to be
undervalued. An analysis of the impact of the Polish Sunday trading
ban on Biedronka’s operations, the company’s largest banner, then
follows. Even though Biedronka took market share from smaller
players over the period, it is found to have been negatively impacted
permanently by this policy, with a quantifiable reduction in like for-like sales growth during the first years of implementation.
