Over the last few years, we have witnessed a gradually increasing automation within the industry business, mainly within the mass production of various components for a myriad of other industry companies. However, due to said automation, certain complexity problems have been placed on the table of manufacturing companies, who require to produce a bigger number of compo-nents, with lifecycles increasingly shorter, in a very small window of time. As a direct consequence of that, most of the components produced will end up in bins with a random arrangement, which makes their recognition and subsequent processing ex-tremely difficult. This thesis will, therefore, have as its final objective the design and implementation of an automatic system of bin picking with the aid of auxiliary visual input - image recognition in real time.
