e reforçar as infraestruturas de investigação. Assim, surgiram plataformas agregadoras
Segundo várias instituições e iniciativas, o livre acesso e a divulgação destes conteúdos
as plataformas relevantes.
Institutions that host and promote cultural heritage, such as archives, libraries or museums, have recently made systematic and intensive use of the digitization of their documents and objects as a way to preserve their content. This step towards digitization has created the need to maintain the digital heritage created and to strengthen research infrastructures. Thus, content aggregator platforms emerged, equipped with the necessary tools to search, view and use them. According to several institutions and initiatives, free access to and dissemination of this content has proven beneficial, not only financially, but culturally as well. Once the contents are freely accessible, the greater is their propagation and public reach. Although ultimately beneficial, this dissemination may not be easy, because these are contents of scientific rigor that hardly capture the curiosity of a public that does not already have it. Hence the importance of digital exhibitions, the subject presented in this document that aims to promote the dissemination of content and keep the platforms relevant. Intended for the general public, digital exhibitions are smaller informative contents that use the digital objects from the different repositories that the exhibition aggregates and that have functionalities for easy sharing and interaction with users. This dissertation is part of a collaboration between the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities (FCSH NOVA), and other institutions in this field that, in partnership, developed the ROSSIO platform. Inherent in this development is the creation of an application capable of creating and displaying digital exhibits on the ROSSIO platform.
