Apesar de ser considerada por muitos como uma área desprovida de criatividade, a tradução técnica implica criatividade por parte do tradutor, de tal maneira que pode ser definida, em muitos projetos, como transcriação. Partindo da minha experiência de estágio na Upwords, Lda., irei descrever a entidade de acolhimento, os fundamentos teóricos que ligam a tradução técnica à transcriação e ainda os vários projetos em que trabalhei e que implicaram o uso de uma criatividade raramente associada à prática da tradução técnica.
Despite being considered by many people as an area devoid of creativity, technical translation implies creativity on the part of the translator, in such way it can be defined, in many projects, as transcreation. Based on my internship as an intern at Upwords Lda, I will describe the host entity, the theoretical foundations that connect technical translation to transcreation, and the various projects I worked on that involved the use of creativity rarely associated with the practice of technical translation.
