The present dissertation is the discriminatory textual component of the characteristics and purpose of a digital application called Cultural Virtual Visit, which is the “tangible” object or component of this Project Work for the conclusion of the Master's course in Art History. It is in fact a digital application that is finished and attached to this project work, that is, it is not a simple proposal or planning. As such, it was not excused from including in these lines details of the paths that led to the conclusion that this application is in fact relevant and pertinent to the History of Art. The research that sought to understand the articulations between the terms culture, heritage, digitalization, memory, identity, preservation and dissemination of heritage, buildings and constructions relevant to Portuguese culture and the city of Lisbon were concentrated, diluted and pulverized in the textual body of this component. This is justified by the fact that the objective of this dissertation is to present the application in its location, construction, development and solution in an objective relationship with the History of Art and not to be a study about the role of these terms in relation to this discipline. The dense research works were concerned with answering questions such as: what is the most professional, technological, effective, expeditious, economically viable and above all authentic way to digitally represent cultural heritage in its axiological totality in the form of buildings, constructions or spaces? What would this application actually solve in comparison to other applications and websites that are already busy and propose to accomplish this feat? What tools to use? What materials or cultural objects to include and in what way? Therefore, it is possible for this component to unilaterally verify the pertinence and relevance of such a digital application in its objective solution to the problem of being a mediator/communicator of culture, but it is highly recommended to use the attached digital application for an understanding and for a more complete.
