Resumo(s)
The sustainability of Social Security has been widely
discussed in academia. In this paper, the intergenerational
fairness of the Portuguese pensions system and of different
party proposals, from opposed sides of the political spectrum,
are discussed with the application of the framework for
Intergenerational Fairness developed by Gulbenkian and
SOIF. I apply the impacts, process and conclusions stage to
evaluate the proposals made by Bloco de Esquerda. In the
impacts stage, it is recommended an action plan for the
enactment of the proposals and in the conclusions, it is found
Bloco’s additional proposals are probably intergenerationally
fair.
